Nice. Movement feels weird because there's no diagonal movement for the player, while the aliens and bullets can go in any angle.
I like the use of the tileset for the key frames in "How to play"
The best strategy is to sit tight in a corner and shoot outwards, so you need to subvert that by giving the player a reason to move around, maybe powerups and such.
As it stands, the limited ammo makes for a game with a clear end, and the piercing bullets make the strategy be "line up as many enemies as you can with one shot and don't waste ammo" which is great. Look for ways to subvert the best strategy or make it more costly, such as enemies trying not to go in a line towards you or wading slowly through the water!
Really Nice game and idea, couple of things I recommend. The player feels super sluggish and the ability to hold M1 enabled me to just sit in the bottom right corner and rapid fire at incoming enemies. I died both times because of an enemy spawning on top of me. Having got that out the way I love the music and environment, there was a lot of good looking environment to look at. My highscore was 101 =).
I think this game is pretty good for 10 hours of dev time! The pathfinding is nice. I only have a couple criticisms:
1.) I think there should be some code that prevents zombies from spawning within x distance from the Cowboy. My very first run, a zombie spawned right beside me and killed me before I had a chance to react and move.
2.) Increase spawn rate over time! I got to about 115 kills with no noticeable climb in difficulty. It seems like it stays simple enough to play until you end the game yourself.
Overall, nice job. :)
thanks, i appreciate the feedback and ill definitely keep it in mind!
